Description
Steel wool pad, used to sanding primer based coat, polishing and sanding varnish and lacquer surfaces, finished gilding surfaces, apply wood stains, remove lacquer and rust metal.
The grade is determined by the thickness of the wire of which the wool is made of the metal is shaved into very thin, flexible strands that when bunched together can have a fuzzy or wool-like appearance.
Steel wool is sold in either rolls or pads and is available in eight grades, from extra-coarse #4 to super fine grade #000
Grade Types Uses
- Fine Grade #00: Sanded third and last based coat and varnish, lacquers.
- Medium #0: Sanded second and third based coat.
- Coarse Grade #2: Sanded first and second water-based primer. Also remove lacquer, paint & rust-metal.
